The extraordinary location of this unique cliffside home is absolutely stunning. Planted firmly on a rock ledge high above the sea, the precipice may be daunting to some. While a low stone wall wraps most of the waterfront paths, we advise parents in advance they should plan to monitor adventurous youngsters along the walkways. Hidden Bay captures both the drama of an extraordinarily elevated panorama of the blue sea and the proximity of its own sandy beach. Its well-planned design attracts groups of up to 12 adults and especially two- and three-generation families. The architect listened when these homeowners ordered a full range of the comforts of a family-style home, equal accommodations for all guests, and capture of the outrageous beauty of their unique location. The interior designer added an uncluttered, immaculate style of unpretentious glamour – in short, an ideal vacation home. For those who want privacy during all this togetherness, ten individual outdoor sitting areas dot the seafront wall. A thatched-roof outdoor bar is yet another informal sitting area with tables for drinks and games. The main house consists of 4 bedrooms and 4 1/2 bathrooms - approximately 4000 sq. ft A comfy wrap-around verandah with glorious view is the favorite gathering area. Step off the porch onto a grassy lawn, freshwater pool and terrace, and Travertine stepping stones to the pièce de résistance – an open sitting area on a dramatic promontory over the sea with sweeping views from horizon to sunrise to sunset. Sunset vigils with butler-served trays of drinks and hors d’oeuvres create indelible memories of each day’s long, breathtaking dusk. Cameras are mandatory. From this promontory, a stairway leads down to a private over-the-water stone deck supported on eons-old coral rock, an enviable spot with chaises for sunning and a jumping-off point into the bay. Or, across the lawn, walk down a Harry-Potter-style rock-clad stairway that looks like it could open to a cave, and voilà! The hidden beach is a 100’ stretch of sand by the sea for barefoot shell gathering, for splashing in shallow waters, and for taller guests to venture into the waves. Kayaks and vests are complimentary. The cottage consists of 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms + full kitchen, verandah, view, and Jacuzzi - approximately 1500 sq. ft. Both bedrooms feature quiet air conditioning, ceiling fans, iPod docks, closet safes, and en-suite bathrooms and are equal in size. A picturesque walk along a paved path overlooking the sea leads to the absolutely charming cottage. Here is a complete accommodation with a well-furnished living room and verandah, full kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, the outdoor sitting area over the sea, and private open-air Jacuzzi.

60 minutes to the airport. Five minutes to Runaway Bay Golf Club. 20 minutes to Ocho Rios. This home, pools and gardens sit solidly on a horizontal expanse of coral rock. The privacy of Hidden Bay belies its location in the heart of the historic little town of Runaway Bay. In fact, one may miss the villa’s entrance gate and impressive wall that spans 450 feet along the road just feet from the sea. But do not miss the opportunity to stroll through this local Jamaican village, unspoiled by super clubs or mega hotels. Immediately across the street is the irresistible Best Little Pattie Shop in Jamaica. The supermarket and hardware store are in the village center. The friendly townspeople will welcome you warmly.

5 Stars Are Not Enough!!
This was this best vacation I have taken! I was overwhelmed with everything. The villa, the staff and the views were amazing! I truly did not want to leave!

A Vacation Like No Other!
I treated a group of 8 friends and myself to a week-long getaway at Hidden Bay by the Sea in Runaway Bay, Jamaica for my 65th birthday celebration. To a person, we continue to say that we were transformed by the experience. We rented both the main house and the cottage so in effect, we had our own private large resort complete with private beach, hot tub, a sea-viewing platform, beautiful verandas and balconies, and 10 or more outdoor seating areas - not to mention the beautifully appointed interiors to the houses. But what made Hidden Bay truly exquisite was the 7-person staff (8 if you count the overnight security guard who patroled the grounds) attending to 9 guests! Two chefs, two butlers, two housekeepers and a groundskeeper - and they were all magical! Examples of the above-and-beyond treatment: After every outing, getting out of our van we were greeted with icy towels scented with almond extract with which to refresh ourselves. The staff remembered every food and beverage preference, allergies, etc. and accommodated them to the fullest. When we mentioned plans to watch the NFL playoffs, bowls of popcorn appeared in the main living room. The staff braved blustery winds one night to transform the main yard into a fairyland of strung lights and color strobes for my birthday dinner. And speaking of food, OMG! The dining was exquisite! Chef Chris and Chef Omar produced amazing creations every night - and the breakfasts and lunches were feasts for the eyes as well as the palate. Everything was made from fresh, local food (the produce in Jamaica is amazing!) and was delectable. The housekeeping staff moved about like magical elves, turning down beds, closing up plantation shutters, turning on A/C units with ceiling fans every evening. And it seemed that in the 5 mins. it took each morning for you to pour your freshly brewed cup of coffee and walk to the edge of the upper yard to gaze at the ocean before breakfast - Voila! Your room and bathroom were cleaned! It was very easy to hire in special activities to come to the villa - our group had a yoga instructor one day, and massage/facial/pedicure treatments from Oshun Dream on multiple occasions. The grounds are large enough that each person getting a service could have privacy. Just ask the staff and a kayak and stand-up paddle boards are delivered to the beach for your use. This is a truly stunning property and the staff is amazing. No other vacation will ever compare.

Jamaican Paradise - Hidden Bay By The Sea
Hidden Bay By The Sea Villa in Runaway Bay was everything we had hoped for, and more. Starting with an unbelievably beautiful setting and Villa Staff, we were impressed from arrival to departure. Chef Marlon was superb, and his daily creations were truly to die for. Richie, our butler, made sure that everyone was taken care of at all times. The maids Samoy and Chadile were also extremely competent and accommodating. Always there but never intrusive, the staff was first class. I could go on for hours on this Villa, its beauty, its privacy and setting. We felt secure at all times, and the added touch of a pool, hot tub, and beautiful accommodations was truly breathtaking. Rental Escapes made sure that we were well informed about everything from transportation to excursions and tipping the staff. Jackie Garabedian of Rental Escapes made sure that we were informed and taken care of throughout the process. Truly truly first class. I highly recommend this villa and Rental Escapes.

From the moment we arrived at the airport, all of our needs were taken care of sometimes before we could even think of what we needed. Hidden Bay is a spectacular oasis. Waking up to the ocean waves crashing against the reefs and then walking out onto the porch is a memory that I have embedded in my mind. Everywhere you walk, there is another place to explore- the hot tub provided the backdrop for our late afternoon cocktails as we watched the sun set. The lower level was a great place to swim out into the sea or just watch the fishermen trying to catch their daily meals. We used the smaller cottage for our spa afternoon- Verona and Joy set up their tables on the porch and created the most relaxing atmosphere. The staff at the villa couldn't have been more gracious. Kim's cooking was fantastic! She made sure that my special dietary needs were met and did a great job of not wasting any of the food. Tommy and Ritchie made sure that our glasses were never empty and our belly's were always full of Kim's yummy creations. On the eve of my sister-in-law's birthday, they set up tables for cocktails, strung lights across trees and created a beautiful and festive vibe. I think the staff had fun when the got to see one of the members of the steel band surprise us as he started dancing and juggling with fire! What a memorable moment. Other memorable moments came when we went snorkeling and of course our trip to Secret Falls. We actually thought about not doing the lazy river but I am so glad that we decided to traveled down together while singing our favorite Bob Marley songs. The views were again, amazing and the memories were priceless. I hope to visit Hidden Bay again and I long for Kim's banana nut muffins. Thank you for recommending Hidden Bay.
