Nine miles west of Montego Bay is a large private site overlooking perhaps the most glorious view of sea and sky on Jamaica's renowned north coast. Elegantly perched on eight and a half acres atop this hill is Bambu, a grand six-bedroom private villa distinguished by its classic architecture and appreciated by discerning vacationers. Bambu was designed by architect Robert Hartley in the early 1960's as a unique melding of West Indies architecture and Italian Venetian style. Its Palladian arches, dramatic central pool, Italian sculptures and breathtaking view make it one of the most photographed homes in this collection. In 1974, images of Bambu appeared in Slim Aaron's 'A Wonderful Time: An Intimate Portrait of the Good Life'. Multiple dining areas take advantage of the spaciousness and vast views from this special property. Breakfast at the river is a marvelous way to start the day. Cocktails on the terrace over the bay and dinner in the gazebo feature one of the most beautiful nighttime light shows in the world. Renovations of interiors and grounds have resulted in an impressive face-lift of this elegant grande dame. Wireless Internet, Apple television, and marble bathrooms complement lovely new interiors. Today its modern comforts and infrastructure mesh with Bambu’s original Euro charm and glamour. As designer Charles Faudree wrote when it was featured on the cover of Veranda magazine, Bambu is the “….blending Old World elegance with New World comforts.” Its newest folly is an open-air garden shower and bathtub outside a small hideaway bedroom downhill from the main house ... with a nine-mile view across Montego Bay. Notable also are Bambu's sprawling grounds and gardens. Headed by talented Sam, the gardeners have created a lush and lavish tropical paradise, with natural stone pathways that wind through gardens to unexpected terraces for private quiet times. With handicap access in mind, a separate entrance designed specially for guests in wheel chairs features a ramp to a level entrance to the villa, avoiding all stairs. The Bambu pool features a broad four inch deep wheelchair platform as well. This shallow water platform is also a thoughtful, safe pool area for toddlers. If you've left your pets at home while you're on vacation, be advised that Bambu is home to a couple of affectionate dogs and a fabulous parrot! At your preference, they may be allowed to roam the grounds and come in to play with the guests or be kept in their large, open-air kennel.

• All guests of Bambu must pay a resort entry fee of US$32 per person per day plus a 15% tax to have access to the resort amenities at the Tryall Club. Children 13-15 years of age pay a discounted rate of 50% off plus 15% tax and children 12 & under are complimentary. After paying the Temporary Membership Fee, members may use most Club facilities at no charge with the exception of the tennis shop, ball boys, bar & restaurant, spa, grocery, motorized water sports, nanny services, and golf. Complimentary amenities include the beach, non-motorized water sports, tennis, the excellent gym, the Hummingbird Kids Club, Great House afternoon tea, the Manager's Cocktail Party, and various special events. Please note: Tryall Club membership is guaranteed for guests traveling through November 30, 2024. There may be occasions when some or all the facilities of the hotel may be closed for membership guest services due to a private hotel event. The Tryall Club reserves the right to change or alter its membership packages with no advance notice. • Four extra children of 12 yrs and under can be accommodated. $30 per child per night. Must be approved by the homeowner. • Rooms are for priced for double occupancy only. Extra guests may be approved by the homeowner and an extra guest fee may be applied. • Staff gratuity - 10% (high season) to 15% (low season) of villa rental rate is to be paid to the head of house in Jamaican or US Dollars at the end of the stay. • Two dogs and a parrot live on the property. Dogs may be kept in open-air kennel at request.

Extraordinary Jamaican Experience
We have been to Jamaica around 15 times and stayed at over a dozen different villas. This was the most beautiful one by far. The villa itself is amazing, the staff - especially Jackie the cook, Thomas and Dominic were extraordinary. The views and property are breathtakingly beautiful. We had a van and driver everyday which was helpful since it is not beachfront property or near much commercial.

Jamaica Getaway
Samantha and Talia were wonderful. The Villa was everything we could have hoped for and more. The staff of Jackie, Davien, Wendy and Lester welcomed us and cared for us like we were family. I would return in a heartbeat.

Wowza
It was fabulous, Jacky, Davian, Charmine and Wendy became family. They took such great care of us during our stay. The Villa was beautiful, giving us views like we've never seen before. The rooms were beautiful. My family that can to visit for our vow renewal was blown away. We plan to visit again.
