Aiola
Property Description
The Val d’Orcia region, located in southern Tuscany, is one of Italy’s most celebrated landscapes, offering an enchanting mix of rolling hills, cypress-lined roads, and panoramic views. Nestled between Siena and the border of Umbria, Val d’Orcia is renowned for its timeless charm, where the countryside remains largely untouched, echoing a sense of enduring serenity. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is beloved not only for its beauty but also for its richness in cultural heritage, where every village, vineyard, and hill tells a story of Tuscan tradition. Ideal for private getaways and family gatherings, Villa Aiola is more than just a place to stay; it’s an invitation to experience the profound beauty and tranquility that define Tuscany’s Val d’Orcia. Location Information
Nearest Airport: Florence Peretola 1 h 32 min Nearest serviced town: 4 min Nearest major city: Siena 1 h Driving time estimated by Google Maps The impressive views of Val d'Orcia, which inspired so many Renaissance painters, are dotted with little villages, castles, abbeys and hamlets, each telling a fascinating ancient story. Time here can still pass slowly, and you can enjoy every second of it. Visit the famous town of Montalcino, best known for the distinguished Brunello red wine, and the artistic jewel of Pienza, which served as the backdrop for Franco Zeffirelli’s masterpiece, “Romeo and Juliet”. The walled hilltop medieval town of Montepulciano, the picturesque Cetona, and the charming thermal villages of San Casciano dei Bagni and Bagno Vignoni are also well worth a visit. To explore Florence on a day trip, the best way is to leave your car at the Chiusi-Chianciano train station and hop on one of the many trains to Florence - Santa Maria Novella Station (they run every hour, and in less than two hours you are in Florence’s historical center).
