The historical town of Cortona is just a few minutes' walk from the villa (400 meters), so if you are looking to stroll into town and then come home for dinner on foot, there is no need to look any further. Also, on the same estate, there is an additional independent cottage (for four persons) with its own private swimming pool and garden, which can be rented together with the main villa (depending on availability). An extraordinary city of art, renowned for goldsmiths and antiques traders, Arezzo is home to valuable monuments, cathedrals and museums, all within its historic center. This corner of Tuscany has been of great inspiration to artists of all trades, from Piero della Francesca, who frescoed the Basilica of San Francesco in Arezzo, to Giorgio Vasari, from the poet Petrarch to Leonardo da Vinci, who supposedly painted a sight of the medieval Buriano Bridge over the Arno river in the background of his famous Mona Lisa.
