Guests staying within the world-famous Sandy Lane Estate will have complimentary access to all Clubhouse facilities including beach chairs, umbrellas and tennis courts. Anchorage is a charming single-story residence nestled within a half-hectare of tropical landscaped gardens on the western end of the Sandy Lane Estate. This wonderful villa is just a stone's throw from the Sandy Lane Hotel and the private Property Owners Beach Club. Open plan living offers a bright and airy feel to the entire house which is complemented by the excellent quality furnishings throughout. The spacious vaulted Living Room is a blend of old Barbados mahogany furniture & coral stone with the more modern bamboo to create a modern Caribbean style feel. The main living and dining room has large marble formal dining table perfect for enjoying dinner with friends and family while on holiday. Once the large sliding doors are opened to the northern side of the living room you flow naturally out on to the terrace which overlooks the pool and garden area. This space is perfect for enjoying a cocktail and a good book while other swim and play in the Barbados sun. There is also a small wrought iron table within the garden perfect for a morning coffee or a game of cards. Anchorage has three expansive bedrooms all which feature air-conditioning. The large master bedroom is furnished with a king-sized bed, with a double basin ensuite bathroom with a large shower. The second and third bedrooms offer twin beds, which can be zipped together to make kings. The second bedroom has a full bathroom accessed across the hallway and the third Bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom with bath/shower. Ideally located less than five minutes walk from the Sandy Lane Property Owner Beach Club, guests can take a quick stroll down to the beach and enjoy complimentary sun loungers, beach umbrellas and a small private cabana perfect for storing beach toys and surfboards. When at the beach make the most of your time in Barbados with a quick zip around on a jet ski or take a glass bottom boat down to Payne’s Bay. Our concierge is ready to make you the perfect itinerary for you vacation, whether it’s a Catamaran Cruise and Private Island Tour or Rum Tour and Train Ride at St. Nicholas Abbey our team is ready to make this your best holiday every. Anchorage has a permanent Housekeeper who is an excellent cook and who will take care of your every need six days a week. She will prepare breakfast, light lunches, and other meals by arrangement only. She also will take care of all the laundry including personal items and keeping the villa in top shape, so you do not have to lift a finger. Those looking to surf or windsurfing, though, will prefer the waves of the Atlantic waters on the east side. Nightlife and dancing lovers, meanwhile, would be wise to stay near all the action on the St Lawrence Gap, which offers a wide variety of local performances such as the famously colourful Tuk band, known to wow audiences with their skills on the bass drum, kettle drum, and penny whistle. In the evening, a more formal dress code is expected, however a dinner jacket is not required. GOLF Royal Westmoreland Golf Course Royal Westmoreland features a world-class 6,870-yard 18-hole championship course with spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea, well-maintained greens and beautiful tropical surrounding. The par-72 course offers a challenging set-up, with the par threes renowned as some of the best in the world. The course is studded with bunkers, some taking advantage of the natural environment, including a coral stone quarry between the 5th and 6th hole and a ravine bordering a tight green at the 12th hole. Sandy Lane Golf Club With spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea, verdant greens and vivid tropical blooms and lush gullies lining the fairways, Sandy Lane Golf Club is renowned as one of the most stunning courses in the Caribbean. Part of the 5-star Sandy Lane Resort, the Country Club strives to provide players with a golfing experience like none other. The first course designed outside the United States by distinguished course architect Tom Fazio, the Country Club features open fairways, angled slopes and five lakes. BEACHES Brighton Beach One of the more active beaches on the West Coast, Brighton Beach is located near the island's capital city, Bridgetown. You will find a wide array of water sport options as well as the nearby Malibu Beach Club and Visitor Centre where you can tour the adjacent rum distillery. Paynes Bay Located between Holders Hill and Sandy Lane, Paynes Bay features ample parking and easy access to the beach. The waters are generally calm, providing excellent swimming and snorkeling conditions. Sandy Lane One of the island’s most stunning stretches of white sand beach, Sandy Lane provides excellent swimming and snorkeling conditions. Located south of Holetown, public access is available at Paynes Bay. Guests of the Sandy Lane hotel have access to beach chairs and umbrellas while residents of the nearby Sandy Lane estate have access to private cabana facilities. Gibbes Beach Located just south of the popular Mullins Beach, Gibbs Beach offers a tranquil setting with plenty of shaded areas and excellent swimming and snorkeling conditions. Water sport amenities are also available. Mullins Beach Featuring a picnic area and spacious parking facilities, Mullins Beach is a popular spot with both locals and visitors. There are beach chair and umbrella rentals as well as restaurant and bar service. The calm waters provide excellent snorkeling and swimming conditions and there are many water sport amenities available, including jet skis. Mullins is also an excellent spot to watch the sunset while enjoying a refreshing cocktail at the nearby restaurant and bar.
